Samsung LE23R71BX Review

Got this LE23R71BX TV a week ago. Picture contrast, brightness and overall quality is excellent - though to see how good it really is you need to watch something in HD. Though not mentioned in the specification, the LE23R71BX features HD in both 720p & 1080i (though 1080p - usually only on much larger LCD TV's is not supported). I am using 1080i with my PS3 and the results are brilliant.

My only minor complaint is that the 'auto wide' option doesn't seem to auto change the format from 16:9 back to 4:3 for older programs as I thought it would. This isn't much of a problem though as this is only a problem for older programs / DVD's which only display correctly in 4:3. There is however a convenient button to change the TV's display format manually.

Overall an excellent display, range of connections (including HDMI and component AV for HD display), THE LE23R71BX is easy to use (setup for watching an external freeview box and PS3 in less than 10 mins) and all at a very competitive price - HIGHLY RECCOMENDED.
